This week we had the opportunity to create signage for a unique terrace style pub in Sydney, at 48 Erskine Street. Pappy's Bar has that cosy tucked away feeling with nooks to settle into with your mates on cold & rainy days, or private balconies for those summer nights. We wanted to provide signage that fits the style of building and business that it is. We have used a retro vintage typeface with an artdeco border pattern, framing the business name. As you can see in the photos, we manufactured and installed a timber blade sign to go at the front and back of the premises similar to those that adorn pubs in the UK. Mirrored gold vinyl was used for the glass graphics giving a rich bright appeal. We have a range of films available, each with particular properties to achieve the look you are after. In the examples below we've printed onto a clear film using translucent inks, to achieve a soft, light and bright feel through the office. We can assist you with choosing the best graphics for your environment. Light plays a big part in determining the best images to use. The idea is to use the light source to illuminate the colour & contrast within the images.
Branded bollards are are great alternative to flags and A-frame signs. Standing around waist-height, they are useful wayfinders that can be placed almost anywhere. Their sleek surface lends itself well to and style of branding or colours. Speak to our friendly team about bollard options for your business.
An appreciation post for a local artist who has created some pretty awesome pieces of art for us recently. Illustrator Joe Neathway's work has a very distinctive style. Amid the bright colours and wide-eyed smiling characters there is gore, surrealism and nudity, but mostly his work is fun. It makes you think, and makes you smile. We humbly sit among a pretty impressive client list including General Pants, Red Bull, Rip Curl, Sharpie and Pedestrian TV. Our Neathway posters have appeared in our shop front windows and social media pages to promote our #toolboxwraps and 2019 New Look campaigns, as well as a short animation to help launch our rebrand mid 2018. His next creation for Brand New Signs is expected next week. We can't wait! Watch this space....
A new name in prestigious realty launched on the Northern Beaches at Christmas time last year: UPSTATE. You may have noticed their distinctive black and white branding outside listed properties in the area, or seen their powerful "Find yourself in a better place" campaign pop up in your news feed. Upstate contracted Brand New Signs to work with them on their launch to market with a range new of signage. This project gave us the opportunity to flex our fabrication muscles and show just how impactful bespoke signage can be for a business's brand image. We collaborated with RealHub, creating eye-catching LED-lit header units to give their signboards day and night visibility. We also developed sleek folded acrylic Aframes with strips of rose gold recessed into the custom rebated grooves, illuminated open home bench signs in UPSTATE's distinctive "A" shape and weighted PVC directional bollards. For their head office we built 3D LED-backlit letters which herald the reception area and give maximum impact. If budget permits, fabricated signage is a wonderful way to promote your business and set it apart from your competitors. If you have a vision for custom signage, talk to us about how we can help you turn it into a functioning reality for your business.
Have you been to Marlie's in North Sydney? If not, you should. They have very yummy USA and Asian influenced food with a focus on locally sourced produce, served in a Northern Beaches inspired relaxed atmosphere. They also have some cracking signage throughout their eatery. From traditional signwriting onto brick walls, fabricated acrylic signs and graffiti style wall graphics, we are proud to have worked with Mark and Julie to enhance the "good vibes" at Marlie's eatery. While we can't take credit for the designs, we can take credit for the beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into manufacturing and installing the signs throughout the restaurant. Everything from the menu boards, signwriting and wall signage was produced by us! So, we encourage you to visit if you are in North Sydney one lunchtime. And don't forget to check out our handy-work while you are there!
It is hard not to be impressed by this wall graphic we recently installed at the Actors Centre Australia located at The Forum in Sydney's Leichhardt. Our client, Murray at Badaboom, designed this striking display featuring ACA ambassadors including Hugh Jackman, Marcia Hines and Georgie Parker among other well known performers. Twelve plaques with photos and quotes from ACA ambassadors stand out from the boldly coloured vinyl background, and a hero shot of Hugh features on an acrylic disc in the top corner. ACA's founding director, Dean Carey, was positive and enthusiastic when it came to us installing the new signage. It is easy to see how Dean has built the ACA into the successful academy that it is today, boasting a long list of super-star Australian performers among its graduates. Dean's hands-on approach to every aspect of the business, from teaching and mentoring students, scheduling classes and tutors, to being present for the signage install, was very apparent. Dean was delighted by the end result and we agree that the signage is a great tribute to the organisation's 30 years of educating and contributing to both the Australian and global performing arts industries.
Wall-mounted acrylic panels are a great way to add visual impact to your office or retail space. Talk to us about our wide range of signage materials, finishes and features to help exhibit your company's story. We have been producing and installing signage for Carlile Swimming at sites across Sydney and Melbourne for 10 years. A great example of our work for this leading Australian swim school is the signage fit-out at their newest pool at Lane Cove West. Opened in late 2017, the purpose-built centre includes spectacular over-sized graphics above the pool, change rooms and reception area, and a large structural sign at the main entrance. The impressive 7.6 x 3 metre matt laminate photographic image that our team installed above the pool deck is a nod to Carlile Swimming's founders, Forbes and Ursula Carlile, who are both Olympian swim coaches. Our team also applied a large black and white matt laminate graphic to a curved feature wall. The image depicts a scene from Carlile Swimming's rich history as Australia's first commercial swimming school catering for all levels, taken at Drummoyne Baths in 1955 when they first began operating. Dominating the entrance to the Lane Cove West aquatic centre, we applied graphics bearing the recognisable Carlile orange and blue branding and logo to their tower sign, consistent with signage at the entrance to their other swim school centres.
Whether you have large-scale spaces or more compact areas to promote your business, contact us to talk about how we can create signage that tells your unique brand story. A new product has really caught our eye here at Brand New Signs. Bubble-release dot film is a great new version of reusable, removal adhesive graphics. Super simple to apply, this product means that our clients can install promotional signage themselves, and still achieve a professional result. The latest technology in this product area means that air bubbles are easy to remove once applied to a surface, and the signage can also be re-applied if you aren't happy with its original placement. Perfect for short-term promotional messages, this adhesive film is available in clear (great for windows) or opaque (windows or walls). We are thinking retail display, and inside cafes or restaurants to promote your latest offer or product release.
